Jerry Joseph
Black Cat Music, 🐈⬛, the Green Note and Evans Above are delighted to present the Jerry Joseph London Residency of November 2024
Tickets here: www.wegottickets.com
Jerry Joseph is a musician who lives in Portland Oregon, but he’s often gone. He’s been inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame but is still rather obscure to a lot of people. He plays well over 150 shows a year in the usual places. Across America. Sometimes in Europe, Mexico, and Central America. Then there’s these other places he plays—Lebanon, Israel, Kurdish Iraq, India, and Afghanistan. All over the Middle East, often in war zones and refugee camps.
In addition to his touring, Jerry has set up a non-profit called Nomad Music Foundation that acts as a sort of School of Rock for displaced teenagers in areas of conflict. So far, he has taken guitars and taught lessons in camps in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Sulaymaniyah and Dahuk, both in Kurdish Iraq. These life-changing missions have been written up in Rolling Stone, Relix, and PBS News Hour.
Oh yeah, and he’s really ****ing great.
The gig will be in the downstairs room and is standing - if you need a seat please contact Black Cat Promotions

Morris Folk Club
The Morris Folk Club runs on the last Tuesday of most months (excepting December and some other holiday months). Entry is free, and all are warmly welcome.
Morris Folk Club runs 7.30pm-10.30pm-ish.
Check Twitter and Facebook for information on what's happening this month, not least in case of cancellations or special themes, or sign up to the Morris emailing list.
Our Folk Club runs from 7.30pm till about 10.30pm, and generally follows an open, floor performers/singers night format. You can just listen, and sing along, if you like, or you can perform. Let the MC know if you'd like to sing or play something - it's typically up to one item per half, time permitting. It's always a very appreciative audience - and, if you're worried about that kind of thing (which you shouldn't be), a supportive and forgiving one too.
A unique part of Morris Folk Club is that it incorporates elements of 'open choir rehearsal', when anyone can get a taste of singing with the choir, as during the evening we all together learn a song or two or go over an old favourite.

Loose Nights present Dillon Warnek + Dietrich Strause + DJs Danny Champ and Chris Minks
In their recent feature on who to catch at Americanafest this year, Rolling Stone Magazine described Dillon Warnek as "one of Nashville’s best kept secrets”. Support comes in the shape of Boston born, now London resident, the hugely talented Dietrich Strause. More acts will be announced and DJ’s Chris Minks and Danny Champs will be keeping the party going into the small hours.
Joe Solo + Jess Silk
Joe Solo and Jess Silk hit London on their double-header tour promising classic songwriting, mass singalongs, and a collaboration or two. Unmissable stuff.

We'll play songs from my new album, 'Vide Grenier', which comes out in February (first single from it, 'Pomme de Terre', out now). Kelsey Michael + Montague Armstrong
Kelsey Michael
Kelsey celebrates the release of her debut solo album Lethowsow on DimpleDisc CD and LP: Listen: https://orcd.co/kelseylethowsow Lethowsow has been championed by Gilles Peterson on BBC 6 music, and enthusiastically reviewed by Uncut; ‘this beguiling debut is infused with natural wonder.’ The sonic vision for Kelsey’s music laces her love for uplifting 60s and 70s classic singer-song writing - artists such as Laura Nyro and Carole King - with a contemporary art-pop edge. Lethowsow, an old Cornish word meaning ‘the milky ones’was a name for the Seven Stones reef off Lands End.The sea is a major character in Kelsey’s music, along with the nature and wildlife of farthest West Cornwall where she lives. Storytelling, folky drones, dynamic vocals and dreamy cinematic song-landscapes all play a part in her live show, performed with High Llamas bassist Jon Fell.
Kelsey features on Jocelyn Pook’s score for Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut and sings on many High Llamas albums.

Tristan Bath in the Quietus wrote: "A post punk, post noise update of the far headier krautrock bands". Reza Mills in the Sleeping Shaman wrote: "sounds like Malcolm Mooney fronting the much-overlooked Minutemen." Gonzo Circus (Amsterdam) wrote: "Think Can, the Fall, the Jesus Lizard, and the catchy danceable pop of Liquid Liquid, Medium Medium, and the Pop Group."
A new single from bushpilot, Rockitman is coming out in November, and new material has been recorded, and will be previewed at this show alongside older highlights.
SILKess Demon is the project of outsider artist and former singer and flautist of feral freak folk group Jesus Licks, Dominique Golden, who is joined by Nik Clifford (also of bushpilot and Jesus Licks) on banjo, and Vincent Clifford on drums.
