special guests: MONROE’S REVENGE
It's an absolute pleasure to welcome back a band that has been a mainstay of the British bluegrass scene since it was formed by banjo player Roger Blackbourn in 1987. Monroe's Revenge played regularly at festivals such as Didmarton and North Wales until Roger retired in 2016. He passed away in 2021. Now the remaining members have reunited around singer Dave Plane, a stalwart of the folk scene since the 1960s, continuing to mine his extensive catalogue of songs drawn from a wide range of genres but especially American old-time and traditional bluegrass. With Richard Partridge (fiddle), Joe Hymas (mandolin) and Dick Embery (bass).
With Support from Jolene and the Dublin Aunts.
