Hawk (The Plastic Pals, SWE), Michael J Sheehy + Trent Miller

Doors: 8:15 pm

Admission: 10 pounds (at the door)

Hawk of Stockholm New York rock / garage power pop twin guitar guitar slinger band The Plastic Pals returning to London for a solo acoustic gig at the glorious quirky pub the Betsey Trotwood where he´s played several times before, with and without the band. Even namedropping the Betsey and the Farringdon / Clerkenwell stomping grounds and the Come Down And Meet The Folks posse in the tune Clerkenwell (from the album Psychic Reader, 2018). That one plus some Plastic Pals classics together with a few new ones will be on the menu this Wednesday evening at the Betsey.

Hawk is also very happy to announce guest appearances of his friends Michael J Sheehy and Trent Miller, playing a set each before Hawk kicks off his show.

Michael J Sheehy, vocalist and founding member of Dream City Film Club, currently in Miraculous Mule and psychedelic electronic duo United Sounds, but also an eminent solo artist, singer and songwriter himself, who Hawk had the pleasure of seeing perform opening for Chris Cacavas at the Ginistry in Oxted and at the Green Note in Camden in August last year. By his own account, Michael J Sheehy has pissed away two or three careers. As wonderful singer/songwriter Dan Raza writes about Sheehy as an introduction to his interview with him on Raza´s awesome podcast Spirit&Roots (see that as a recommendation), Michael´s music is "... dark and often darkly humorous, punk-spirited songs..." that draw on "... everything from early American rock´n´roll, blues, gospel and country to the British hymnal tradition".

Trent Miller, the angelic diabolic Italian bard who relocated to London many years ago. Enchanting songwriter with haunting melodies and lyrics evocative of Gene Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen. "A darkly underground mix of hangovers, anguished love, mournful blues and lonesome country" as Q Magazine wrote about his album "Time Between Us".

You´re in for a treat, folks!
