The Pete Greenwood Band / Moondusty

Downstairs at The Betsey Trotwood. Doors open 7.30pm, music from 8.00pm.

Pete Greenwood gained his reputation as a guitarist during his university studies, and an extensive period of gigging in South London. The hours put in and the experience gained landed him tours in The UK, Europe and North America as an in-demand session guitarist.

Upon returning to London after a trip to Japan/US with Mojave 3, he found himself with a record contract and an album’s worth of original solo material., leading to the release of his critically acclaimed 2008 debut album “Sirens”. Pete then juggled projects with The Loose Salute, The See See, and session work for Starsailor, with tours alongside The Magic Numbers, Goldfrapp, The Raconteurs and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

His second album “Beauceron” was released after his return to Yorkshire and a break from touring in 2015. With the rekindling of an old friendship with drummer Shaun Farmer and a chance meeting through mutual friends with bassist Dean Roby, Pete formed his current band. After locking themselves away in a warehouse in Leeds at every chance, Pete’s third, and the band’s first album “Radio Slow” was recorded in a flurry of activity back in London with producer Sean Read (Manic Street Preachers, Beth Orton, Dexys), released in 2020.

Moondusty is a band led by Daniel Orcese, a SE London-based singer-songwriter blessed with decades-long experience of making magical music.  He’s toured with Pete Doherty, made an album with critically acclaimed jazz pianist Greg Foat and has contributed vocals for a Paul Weller track , and was for a decade the landlord of the Glad in Borough.

Laurence Saywood, Tom Hinkley, James McArthur, Drew Manley and Steve Jones are all old friends from their days playing in each others bands at the Gladstone- their sound is the warm embrace of old friends privileged to be in each other’s company.
